Well, we knew it would be a different one and it was certainly that. The Ultra's were in fine voice but to no avail as their side went down 1-3, though I noticed Smurf was wearing a big grin throughout so he was happy in more ways than one.
This week we stood with the fans and got several interviews recorded with them instead of the chairman/manager chats we usually have, goats seemed to be a major talking point (the reason for this weeks intro tune).
Once again we were made very welcome by everyone at the club and the rain stayed away, I think we are going to get soaked sooner rather than later as we seem to miss the rain where ever we go for our recordings. Smurf gives his thoughts on the beer available plus we found out that they sell a special blue beer at the Doucy, brewed by a local brewery in honour of the club.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed our time with the Kesgrave Ultra's, who are in my humble opinion, some of the best lads anywhere in the league.

ECFS Summer Fair 2007

<itunes:subtitle>The Eastern Counties Football Supporters Summer Fair, organised by Bonka and Smurf at Soham Town Ran</itunes:subtitle>

The Eastern Counties Football Supporters Summer Fair, organised by Bonka and Smurf at Soham Town Rangers FC on Saturday and Sunday the 1st and 2nd September 2007.
We got just one interview recorded and that was with Steve Taylor, manager at Haverhill Rovers FC. He attended both days, spending his money lavishly in the auction on Saturday evening plus playing a major part in the football match organised for the Sunday.
The rest of this podcast is taken up with 20 minutes of the party that went on at the campsite after the disco/auction. There are some funny moments as Smurf keeps requesting that we start recording and the Kesgrave Ulta's can be found in fine voice.
Sadly, recordings of the singing during the karaoke were not that clear so they have not been included on here. Also as we were all very busy on Sunday we decided aganst recording anything but I hope you enjoy what is included on here. We had a good time!

Another sunny afternoon, yet another new ground for me. You'd think I'd been everywhere but we still come up with these new grounds. Anyway, today we met up with Spongebob from the forum and had a lovely chat with Peter Wright, Vice Chairman at Fakenham. Fakenham have a beautiful ground and a lovely setup but with one or two problems of the pitch they are currently struggling to get a decent team together, still the team gave their all and I don't think any more could have been asked of them when we visited. Some lovely people that I'm sure will get the team to where the ground dictates they should be very soon.<img src="http://www.mypodcast.com/image-72084">

The mystery can now be revealed. As Smurf was enjoying himself at a music concert, I went to Tiptree today and met up with Jack Pridmore, or JP to anyone that reads the ECL or ESL forums. Jack had kindly offered his services as guest interviewer. We had a good afternoon chatting about the football we watched though that was poorer than our expectations. We met Tiptree United secretary John Wiseby and you can listen to the results of that interview as well as an interview with the new Tiptree United assistant manager, Richard Carter. Once again the weather was kind and it didn't rain, though at times it looked as if we would get drenched. All in all another excellent day out at another Ridgeons League ground.<img src="http://www.mypodcast.com/image-68165">

I think this weeks theme music says it all really, sadly we didn't get to chat to anyone from Swaffham Town but we met Yellow Army and Chubbieltfc from the Eastern Counties Football Forum and had a rather interesting chat with Lowestoft Town chairman, Gary Bennet.
There is quite a bit of small talk this week with no mention of how good the lager was though Smurf did test it rigorously and we both enjoyed our burgers with Baby Smurf commenting on how good the hotdogs were in the background.
Another enjoyable day at a ground neither of us had been to before along with a resounding 5-0 win to Lowestoft Town<img src="http://www.mypodcast.com/image-64569">

This week we have another set of interesting interviews from both teams plus one from a more than impartial supporter. As always our thanks to everyone for letting us interview them and my deepest apologies to Dave, K&P Secretary as his interview seems to have been deleted at some point, we'll just have to grab him at another game and embarras him all over again.<img src="http://www.mypodcast.com/image-61004">

After our intial fears that we would get absolutely nothing of any use recoreded were proven groundless, we had a really great afternoon, with Woodbridge showing everyone what a good team they could be this season. Some great interviews from members of both clubs today has lengthened our normal podcast to nearly 50 minutes but everyone was interesting and only to happy to chat to us with as much going unrecorded as can be listened to here. A DC does make an appearance but you'll have to wait until the very end to see what Smurf makes of his by now regular test at every ground with him even taking over as food tester this week as well. We were once again joined by our great friend Bonka, who seems to be getting the bug for ground hopping and has intimated that he may well join us again next week as well. Anyways, listen and enjoy as Smurf and Trevor get sensible!<img src="http://www.mypodcast.com/image-57450">

Today we were at the double header friendly that Long Melford played against Grundisburgh First Team & Reserves. We spoke to club chairman Colin Woodhouse and Joint First Team manager, Paul Grainger from Long Melford and Joint First Team manager Kevin Cunningham from Grundisburgh.
Smurf seemed to think that the Summer Fair had arrived early and had a DC drinking competition with Sir Ade but once again everybody had a great day out with both new and old friends alike.
I would like to thank everyone at Long Melford FC for their hospitailty and wish them well in the forthcoming season.<img src="http://www.mypodcast.com/image-53317">
